October is the month of heaviest rains in Costa Rica. We have two annual seasons: rainy season from June to November, and dry season from December to May. Dry season will soon be here with cool nights and strong winds. Our amazing God is in control of the wind, the rain, the seasons, and the hearts of men! He has called us to give them the gospel. Then His Holy Spirit does the work of convicting, convincing, and converting them to Himself. We constantly see children, youth, and adults come to know the Lord Jesus as Savior. The happiness, relief, and contentment that we see in the new convert’s face give us satisfaction and renewed vigor to continue in the ministry of the gospel. What a privilege and challenge to be the only Baptist church in a town of nearly 100,000 people!
Please pray for the national pastors and members of the churches that God has allowed us to found in 29 years of service in Costa Rica:
|• Iglesia Bautista El Calvario in San Ramon
• Iglesia Bautista de Los Corales in Limon
• Iglesia Bautista de Tejares in Tejares
• Iglesia Bautista Nueva Vida in Atenas
• Iglesia Bautista Renacer in Concepcion
• Iglesia Bautista de Bolivar in Bolivar
Thank you for praying for all of our family!
Lathan, our oldest son, (Captain, USAF) has just returned from Africa and received new orders in Washington, DC.
Richard, (1st Lt., USMC) will soon finish Cobra helicopter flight school in San Diego and be assigned to the fleet in New River, NC. He has orders to deploy to the Middle East in the Spring, 2008
Rachel will finish her photo-journalist internship at Chattanooga Times Free Press in December, and will begin her tenure with SCORE International.
Lynn and I continue to minister in San Ramon. We have several plans and goals (both short and long-term) for the ministry in Costa Rica. There are still many people to reach with the gospel of our Lord Jesus. Please keep us in your prayers and may God richly bless each of you.
Working together for Christ,
Russ and Lynn Turner
